Open public lecture by Peeter Torop, University of Tartu

Peeter Torop, Professor of Cultural Semiotics at the University of Tartu, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Institute of Philosophy and Semiotics will give an open lecture for the students of the Joint Master of Semiotics, Culture and Communication and the members of the Laboratory of Semiotics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, titled ''Intersemiosis and levels of cultural adaptation΄΄ on Wednesday 19/05/2021 at 19.00 (local time).

Lecture is about analysability of cultural adaptation in contemporary dynamics of culture. Interlingual, interdiscursive, intertextual and intermedial levels of cultural adaptation demonstrate need in complex understanding of cultural mediation and differentiation of adaptation and intersemiotic translation.  Notion of intersemiosis is central for conceptual developing new methods of evaluation of cultural adaptation.
